There's also a book called Centipede's One Hundred Shoes - that'd be just right! Honestly I don't think he's a fail. I think he's about as much of a fail as my first Cosmo was - not really a fail, just not quite what I (for mine, or you, for yours) envisioned. I'd say you came up with a cute centipede - the only change I would make would be to use more colourful ribbon. The number of legs is fine for a centipede - I would just ... OH I know ... how about rattail for his legs ... single thickness so nobody can ge a finger caught, tie a knot at the end to finish it and for extra texture ... and you could probably get a dozen or more legs on each side, haha!!
